What the file Tray is for

The NotchNook Tray gives you a place near the top of the display to stage files while moving between tasks. For example, gather the files you intend to use in a message or another application before completing that action. Think of it as a workspace aid rather than a backup service.

Start with a test file you can safely use. Open the panel and try dropping the file into the Tray, then use the destination you normally work with. Verify the result at the destination instead of assuming a drag gesture completed a transfer.

AirDrop and transfer checks

NotchNook includes an AirDrop workflow. Test it with your own receiving device and confirm the transfer on that device. A visible file in the Tray is not confirmation that another device has received it. AirDrop availability also depends on the normal Apple device and connection conditions.

If a transfer fails, separate the Tray action from the receiving-device issue. Note the file type, the app version, the receiving device and what appeared on each side. Avoid sending private documents as test material when an ordinary sample file will answer the same question.

Keep original files safe

Do not treat temporary staging as your only copy of an important document. Keep the original in its normal storage location and confirm where the completed action placed the file. This guide does not claim cloud synchronization, automatic backup or unlimited retention for the Tray.

When troubleshooting, preserve the current Tray contents and preferences. Deleting them can lose useful context and is not a general fix. If the panel or a drop target behaves unexpectedly, send support the exact action and a redacted screenshot.

Choose the right tool for your workflow

A notch panel with a Tray and a dedicated file-shelf utility address overlapping but different needs. If you are comparing NotchNook with a file-focused app, list the operations you actually need and try them rather than assuming the products have matching feature sets.

NotchNook also provides music, calendar, notes, tasks, timers and mirror functions. The value of combining those tools depends on your routine. This article does not publish an untested feature-by-feature verdict about another product or claim that a competitor lacks a capability.

Test and buy from the current site

The 48-hour trial includes the Tray and other features without requiring a card. Use it on the display where you normally work, including an external display if relevant. Check both the staging interaction and the final destination of your files.

If the workflow suits you, view the current plans and buy on getnotchnook.com. If file handling is preventing use, contact support with a reproducible example first. A purchase or repeated reinstall should not be used to guess at the cause of a transfer problem.
