Activate a current purchase

Use the purchase email and key delivered for your current checkout. Open the NotchNook panel, right-click an empty area, open Settings and select License. Enter the email and key, then choose Activate license. Keep the exact error if activation does not succeed.

An email address alone is not a license key. Check that you are using the purchase email rather than an unrelated alias and that the key was copied accurately. Do not publish either the key or a full receipt when asking a general question in a community.

Payment completed but activation failed

Wait for payment confirmation and use Check license again in License settings. If the error persists, contact support from the purchase email with the order reference and exact message. Do not pay a second time to troubleshoot a completed purchase.

Tell support which app version and macOS version are installed. Distinguish a missing delivery email from a key rejected by the app: they require different checks. Avoid deleting preferences, notes or Tray contents as a generic activation fix.

Lost keys and device limits

If you cannot find the delivery email, check the purchase mailbox and contact support from that address. Share purchase details privately through the support route. A search result offering a public key does not recover your purchase and is not a legitimate substitute for your own entitlement.

If the app reports a device limit, review activated Macs in Settings → License and release a Mac you no longer use, or ask support for help. Reinstalling the application is not a reliable way to free a server-side activation and can make troubleshooting less clear.

Offline checks and older-store purchases

After a successful license check, the current app can operate offline for up to 30 days before another server check is needed. An internet or server-check failure should be reported with its actual error. It does not by itself prove that your purchase has been cancelled.

A license from an earlier store is not automatically a license for the current store. Contact support about that purchase rather than assuming all historical keys have the same status. Individual exceptions or current purchases must be checked against their own entitlement; this guide does not promise automatic conversion.

Keep access secure

The current license terms are non-transferable. Keep your key private and use it only within the permitted device and ownership conditions. When contacting support, send enough information to identify the purchase without posting payment details to Reddit, Discord or X.

New customers can first evaluate every feature with the 48-hour trial, without a card. Once the app fits their Mac and workflow, they can choose a current plan. Existing customers with an activation issue should resolve that issue with support before purchasing again.
