Check About This Mac for the installed macOS version and processor. The current download supports Intel and Apple silicon on macOS 14.6 or later. That operating-system requirement matters more than whether your display has a camera notch. A Mac on Monterey, macOS 12 or Ventura, macOS 13 does not meet it.
Use the official download page for the available version and installation instructions. The release notes describe changes to the app; they are a better reference than a years-old review or download mirror.
MacBook Air M1 and displays without a notch
NotchNook can draw a panel at the top of a display without a physical notch. A MacBook Air M1 is therefore not excluded just because its screen lacks that cutout. It still needs the supported macOS version. The same distinction applies to Intel Macs and external displays.
During the trial, check the display where you actually work. Open the panel, test your media controls, access your calendar and drop a file into the Tray. If an external display behaves differently, report the arrangement and the app version to support. Compatibility does not mean every possible display setup has already been independently tested.
Is there NotchNook for Windows, Linux or Android?
The current product distributed at getnotchnook.com is for macOS. It does not provide a Windows executable, Linux package or Android APK. A search result saying “NotchNook Windows free download” is not evidence of an official Windows version.
Likewise, there is no iPhone or iPad build in the current Mac download. The interface is inspired by the idea of a Dynamic Island, but that does not make the Mac app an iOS application. Do not install an unrelated package merely because it uses the name.
Mac App Store, Setapp and older distribution references
To obtain the current app covered here, use getnotchnook.com/download. An old App Store, Setapp, Homebrew or lo.cafe reference should not be assumed to distribute that same version. Check the linked domain and the version before relying on it.
For a purchase or subscription from an earlier channel, ask support about that specific purchase. Do not pay again merely because a directory lists a different download. The current plans are published on this site, and the terms applicable to a purchase appear at checkout.
Try the supported version on your Mac
The 48-hour trial includes all features and does not require a payment card. Test the features you intend to use on your supported Mac: music, calendar, notes, tasks, timers, mirror and the file Tray. Camera and calendar features need their corresponding macOS permissions.
When the app fits your setup, buy NotchNook from the current plans. For a failed launch or missing feature, read the troubleshooting guide and send the exact error to support. Do not delete your notes or preferences to troubleshoot compatibility.
